History

Founded by Robert and Fred Byron in 1963, Byron Aviation, known then as Byron Products provided general aviation and engineering products. The company began to develop a strong reputation, designing and manufacturing all the (aluminium) 12 meter yacht-masts for the Americas cup challengers as well as forging a strong relationship with Qantas as a well-respected supplier.

In the mid-seventies Byron Products was responsible for supplying many different components related to the aircraft interiors divisions of Ansett & Qantas Airways.

The eighties brought focus to the 747-200 series Aircraft, where the company worked closely with Qantas providing support with their lower lobe galleys. These aircraft were eventually sold to United, where Byron Products assisted with the sales program, meeting delivery requirements for equipment ship sets.
